What information do we collect?

We collect information from you when you register on our site, subscribe to our newsletter, respond to a survey, or fill out a form.

When ordering or registering on our site, as appropriate, you may be asked to enter your name, e-mail address, mailing address, or phone number. You may, however, visit our site anonymously.

Your information, whether public or private, will not be sold, exchanged, transferred, or given to any other company for any reason whatsoever, without your consent, other than for the express purpose of delivering the purchased product or service requested. Exhibitors at our conferences are provided with the names, addresses, and email address of attendees unless the registrant opts out.

The email address you provide for order processing, may be used to send you information and updates pertaining to your order, in addition to receiving occasional news, updates, related product or service information, etc.

Note: If at any time you would like to unsubscribe from receiving future emails, we include detailed unsubscribe instructions at the bottom of each email.

How do we protect your information?

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information when you place an order or enter, submit, or access your personal information.

We offer the use of a secure server. All supplied sensitive/credit information is transmitted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology and then encrypted into our Payment gateway providers database only to be accessible by those authorized with special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential.

After a transaction, your private information will not be stored on our servers.

Do we disclose any information to outside parties?

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer to outside parties your personally identifiable information. This does not include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our website, conducting our business, or servicing you, so long as those parties agree to keep this information confidential. We may also release your information when we believe release is appropriate to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect ours or others rights, property, or safety. However, non-personally identifiable visitor information may be provided to other parties for marketing, advertising, or other uses.

Occasionally, at our discretion, we may include or offer third party products or services on our website. These third party sites have separate and independent privacy policies. We therefore have no responsibility or liability for the content and activities of these linked sites. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of our site and welcome any feedback about these sites.

Because we value your privacy we have taken the necessary precautions to be in compliance with the California Online Privacy Protection Act. We therefore will not distribute your personal information to outside parties without your consent.

Children's Online Privacy Protection Act Compliance (COPPA)

We are in compliance with the requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not collect any information from anyone under 13 years of age. Our website, products and services are all directed to people who are at least 13 years old or older.

Cookie Policy

The NAMEC website is available as a member service. In using the website, you agree to the following terms:

You are responsible for any content you post. Remember that, in some cases, postings may be made available to the public; do not post information you would like to keep private. Your name and the date will automatically be added to your posting.

You agree not to post any content that is defamatory, libelous, obscene, pornographic, or otherwise illegal.

You agree to be courteous, use respectful and nondiscriminatory language, and refrain from personal attacks.

You agree that you will not post content that infringes on intellectual property rights of another person or institution or content that contains computer code intended to damage any computer.

By posting information on this site, you grant NAMEC the perpetual right to use the information without limitation in any publication of the NAMEC, both electronic and print.

The opinions expressed in the site are those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of NAMEC.

Refund/Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: February 29, 2024

Membership payments are not refundable. If a credit card is provided to automatically renew your membership, it must be cancelled through the website at least 7 days before your renewal date. If you cannot cancel your membership on the website, contact the NAMEC Office to assist.

Event Cancellations unless specifically stated on registration materials, the deadline to receive a refund for your registration is 9 business days before the event. Registration cancellations received prior to the deadline may be eligible to receive a refund less a 10% processing fee.  Cancellations within 9 business days will not be eligible for a refund unless specifically stated on registration materials. Cancellations will be accepted via phone, fax or e-mail, and must be received by the stated cancellation deadline.

Product returns are not accepted. All purchases of products (books, clothing, supplies, etc) are final.

Electronic Communications Policy

NAMEC will only send mass emails or text messages to customers or members who have provided explicit consent to receive such communications. Consent may be obtained through opt-in forms, account settings, or other consent mechanisms.

Content

Communications sent to customers or members will be clear, relevant, and respectful. They will provide value to recipients and adhere to NAMEC brand standards and messaging guidelines.

Frequency

The frequency of mass emails or text messages will be reasonable and aligned with the expectations of customers or members.

Opt-Out Mechanism

Recipients will be provided with a clear and easy-to-use mechanism to opt out of receiving further communications. Opt-out requests will be promptly processed, and recipients will be removed from future messaging lists.

Data Protection

Customer contact information used for mass emails or text messages will be handled in accordance with NAMEC privacy policy and relevant data protection regulations. Contact lists will be securely maintained and protected from unauthorized access or misuse.

Compliance

All mass emails or text messages will comply with applicable laws and regulations governing electronic communications, including but not limited to the CAN-SPAM Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA).
